A 'retired' reporter. From local papers to Fleet Street. Home is Washington, DC - except when I'm in Whitby, Yorkshire, or travelling in a bid to establish myself as a travel-writer.
Rex Aldred bills himself as a "craftsman artist." He's a talented painter, photographer and potter with ideas that, when translated artistically, invariably end up with a distinctively off-the-wall but charming look. Like his latest venture: three-sided plates and dishes. Suffolk born, he worked - while raising two daughters as a single parent - as a BT engineer. When they were grown he quit work to walk from Ipswich round the coast of Britain. He got as far as Whitby, fell in love with the historic fishing town -- as well as his now wife Mo -- and stopped his journey.
